Introducing the CT section . Scan

At the end of the hallway of the Laleh Imaging Center, there is a CT scan section. This section includes a CT scan room, a control room, a recovery room and a waiting corridor

Scan room:

In the scan room, as its name suggests, the CT scan device, which includes Gantry and  its cradel, is located at the door of the room. This room has a control room as well as a waiting room, and the patient can be controlled through a large window between the room and the control room. There is also a dressing room inside the room for changing the clothes of the patient.

CT or computed tomography Computed Tomography scan (CT scan)       an advanced medical imaging techniques .

The Laleh Hospital Imaging Center is proud to receive guest dignitaries around the clock using Phillips CT scan equipped with fluorescope and the valuable ability to reduce patient doses using IDOSE  .

After simple radiography , CT scans help the most to scan lesions of the human body, especially the bones. Today, CT scan is an integral part of diagnosing and even treating many diseases .

Using CT scans, you can see the tissues inside the body and examine their shape. With this information you can be aware of possible illnesses. CT scans show cross-sections of the body .

Today's CT scans are so powerful that they can take images of cuts less than a millimeter away from the human body. A computer CT scan is performed from almost anywhere. CT scans from the tip of the toe to the tip of the toe, and the cross-sectional images of the body can be seen in those cuts .

How does CT scan work?

X-rays are used to perform CT scans. In this method, a thin film of X-rays (like a laser beam) is exposed to the patient's limb .

The radiation passes through all the tissues that are in the way, and some of it is removed from the front of the limb by a Detector Detector or Sensitive Detector .

These detectors convert radiation into electrical current. This process is repeated thousands of times from a variety of angles: the X-rays are projected from the various angles into the limb and the output is measured on the other side of the limb .

In this way, a lot of information is collected in different quantities of the intensity of the current, proportional to the intensity of the beam received by the detector, and sent to the central computer CT scan .

The computer is very powerful, processing the information, and the result is shown in numerous images showing the cross-sectional area on the monitor of the device. If necessary, these images are printed on the film .

Computed tomography scans are much more accurate than simple radiographs, bone shapes and even many other tissues of the limb .

With this technique you can also see the inside of the bone. Most CT scans today are spiral or spiral, meaning that the X-ray source moves like a spiral around the patient's body and imaging in different ways .

Today's CT scans are much more accurate than before, and the speed of these devices has increased, so a CT scan usually does not last a few minutes .

The patient should pay attention to what CT scans do

CT scan is one of the most accurate imaging methods that uses X-rays to process patient information from the patient by providing a detailed image of the body's internal tissues .

Because CT scans are used for X-rays, your doctor needs to be treated during pregnancy before you get it. Using this method of imaging in the first trimester of pregnancy may create problems for the fetus so it is forbidden .

The location of the body from which it is taken should not contain metal. For example, if you are scanned from a CT, you should remove the ring or, if taken from the trunk, you should remove the clothes that have metal clips. For this purpose, simple and one-time clothes may be given to the patient to use them. The presence of metal can reduce the quality of the images .

The CT scan is inside a large room with relatively cool air inside it. This device is a large ring with a flat inside. The computers are located in the adjoining room, which is the control room, and the CT scanner technicians guide that imaging room .

The patient goes to the room with a nurse and the nurse helps him to lie flat on the bed. This condition is usually lying on the back, but it may be necessary for the patient to sleep on the side or to the abdomen. CT scan imaging does not have any pain at all, and the entire duration of imaging is, in most cases, less than a few minutes. So it's done very quickly .

The patient can lie flat on the bed. The patient's trunk may be fixed to the bed by several strips to stay intact .

During the CT scan, there is no one left in the CT scan except for the patient. So the nurse leaves the room. If the patient needs care, they may allow the patient to remain in the room. They give her special clothes to wear. This outfit is designed to protect the patient from X-rays .

At all stages of the CT scan, the imaging technician is located in the adjoining room and sees the patient through a glass window. He hears his voice and can talk to him. So whenever a patient needs help, he can speak .

To provide CT scans, the patient lays on the bed and then throws the bed once into the ring. Then it repeats again, but this time at a lower rate. During the shooting, the X-ray source circulates inside the ring

This circulation is accompanied by a gentle sound, which is normal and does not harm the patient. During operation, the patient should be immobilized to produce clear images. During a CT scan, the radiologist may ask the patient to hold his breath for a few seconds.

At the end of the nurse, he enters and helps the patient leave the CT scan.

In the control room, the CT scan manages all the steps

It may be inhaled while undergoing CT scan of the drug. For this purpose, the needle is sent to the patient's vessel before the imaging begins and connected to the syringe through the tube. The syringe contains a certain chemical and this syringe is controlled by the computer .

When the patient is placed on the bed and scanned in the CT ring, the activated syringe injects the chemical into the patient's vein. During the injection, the patient may feel warm. It may take a couple of minutes to feel the taste of the metal in your mouth or you may feel a urine. This mode lasts for a few minutes and ends .

In some cases, the patient may be given a drug to eat it before a CT scan. If the patient is allergic to some medications (whether it is feline or injectable), it should be communicated to the medical personnel present in the CT before the injection. If you feel unwell after having injected, you should immediately inform the medical staff .

What are the benefits of CT scan?

CT scan is an X-ray imaging method based on computer-based accurate processing of information .

The most important benefits of CT scan include:

However, CT scan has some limitations. This method uses X-rays that can be dangerous compared to ultrasound or MRI .

Therefore, CT scan can not be used in pregnant women, especially in the first trimester of pregnancy. The amount of radiation in the CT scan is more common than conventional radiography, and the physician should consider this factor .

So you can not use any CT scan for any size and size. This is especially important for children because their bodies are more sensitive to X-rays .

The cost of CT scan is more than simple radiography, so it can not be used in any patient. CT scan should only be used when the information obtained will certainly help to diagnose or treat the patient. Computed tomography is only available in large diagnostic and therapeutic centers .

Some people ask if CT scan or MRI is better. Diagnosis is with the doctor. CT scans show more bone problems, while most MRIs are used to identify soft tissue problems

Recovery Room:

If the patient's test is accompanied by an injection, the patient's room is taken in the room, and if he does not have a favorable CT scan or radiology or ultrasound examination, he can rest in this room.

After the end of the scan, the patients are transferred to the hospital, but outpatients, if they are not in a favorable condition, can rest in the recovery room, they are asked to fill out a history sheet for all patients, whether it is an outpatient or hospitalized one, and this The sheet should be attached to the images.
